Kathleen Enright was Joe’s high school sweetheart. Together they had two children and Kathy brought her expertise as a nurse to help Joe’s practice get established. “The Enright Melanoma Foundation is a fitting tribute to Joe who would be so pleased that we honor his memory by helping to prevent melanoma and by encouraging young people to get educated in sun safety.”
Janet joined the Enright Melanoma Foundation in March, 2013. Her background includes more than 25 years of experience in fundraising, resource development, volunteer management, nonprofit board management, marketing, and public relations, at the CIT Group, Family Service of Morris County, New Jersey After 3, Anti-Defamation League of NJ, NCJW Essex County Section, and private consulting. Janet also helped form The Parent Resource Network, a grassroots organization in Rockaway Township, NJ. Janet earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College and received her Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Organization Management from Seton Hall University.
Richard O. Nelson
Dr. Nelson graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1981 and New York Medical College in 1985. He served as a post-doctoral residency fellow for Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons while completing his residency training in internal medicine at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. He then served in the US Navy Reserve and was in the Persian Gulf aboard the USNS Comfort during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Dr. Nelson is the medical director of SAGE Spend-A-Day adult care center and a member of the Primary Care Council at Overlook Hospital. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Summit Medical Group and was recognized as one of NJ Monthly magazine's "Top Doctors" in 2010. He has practiced in the Summit area since 1991 and his office is in Warren, NJ. He was a close friend and partner of Dr. Enright and has been a member of the Board of the Enright Foundation since its formation in 1999. Dr. Nelson has served as president of the Foundation since 2002. Peter Hoglund worked with the Enright Melanoma Foundation for 2 years, and was selected as a full board member in 2013. Peter is a Financial Planner with AEPG Wealth Strategies in Warren, NJ, and specializes in working with physicians and medical practices. Peter holds a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Eastern University.
Theodore J. Scallon, Jr.
T.J. joined the Enright Melanoma Foundation as their Treasurer in June 2016. He is a partner within KPMG’s Rick Consulting practice with over 22 years of experience providing audit and advisory services to global financial institutions, investment banks, investment companies and registered broker dealers. Prior to joining KPMG’s Risk Consulting practice in 2012, T.J. served as a partner within KPMG’s Financial Services audit practice serving some of the Firm’s largest banking and capital markets clients. T.J. currently serves as KPMG’s NYC Office Banking and Capital Market Industry lead partner. T.J. is a CPA in New York State and holds a MBA from Columbia University and a BS in accounting from SUNY Buffalo.
Michelle Napoli is the Human Resources Manager for Carnegie Corporation of New York, one of the oldest, largest and most influential of American grantmaking foundations, which was established by Andrew Carnegie in 1911 “to promote the advancement and diffusion of knowledge and understanding.”
Carnegie Corporation of New York carries out Andrew Carnegie’s vision of doing “real and permanent good in the world” by issuing grants to fund the development of educational systems and libraries in the United States, Africa and Eurasia, as well as grants promoting international peace and security. Michelle has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Human Behavior and Organizational Psychology from Kean University. She is a member of the Central New Jersey Society for Human Resource Management Professionals, and serves as a co-chair for Philanthropy New York’s Foundation Advisors Network. In addition to supporting Enright Melanoma Foundation’s mission to raise sun safety awareness and to help prevent melanoma through education and early detection, Michelle is an active participant in fundraising events to raise money and awareness for women’s cancers and amyloidosis.
Dr. Emily Altman is a dermatologist with Summit Medical Group (SMG). Before joining SMG, she was Medical Director and Founder of Advanced Skin Wisdom at Comprehensive Dermatology and Laser Center, LLC, in Livingston, New Jersey. She was previously Chief of the Division of Dermatology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, and a faculty member for New York University Medical Center Department of Dermatology.
Dr. Altman is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatopathology, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery, Women's Dermatologic Society, and International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease, among others. She is the coauthor of articles on a range of topics in dermatology, which are published in Annals of Allergy, American Journal of the Diseases of Children, and Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, to name a few. She is a reviewer for Journal of the American Medical Association Dermatology.
Dr. Altman has been featured in the New Jersey Monthly "New Jersey's Top Doctors" listings. A sought-after writer of and expert consultant for online and interactive content concerning a wide range of topics in dermatology, she is the Web and Social Media Associate Editor for Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Altman also has earned the HealthTap Founding Expert Award, HealthTap Winter Top Doctor Award - Newark Area, HealthTap Top New Jersey Dermatologist Award, Top Doctor Competition Thought Leader in the Newark Region Honorable Mention, HealthTap Most Influential Doctor in the Morristown Region, and HealthTap Top Doctor in the Morristown Region. In addition to writing for the Summit Medical Group website and HealthTap, Dr. Altman is the author of a dermatology blog called Rash Decisions that is published on WebMD / Medscape.
Brandon first got involved with the Enright Melanoma Foundation as a volunteer in 2015. Initially, he identified EMF as a valuable opportunity to contribute to the community while also advocating for proactive health and wellness behavior. Through ongoing involvement and input, Brandon was selected as a full board member in 2017. Brandon has a background in psychology, biology and healthcare management and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from William Paterson University. Through his ongoing pursuits in life, Brandon remains committed to forwarding the mission of the Enright Melanoma Foundation and promoting sun safety awareness.
Eric Kainer is the newest member of the Enright Board of Trustees, and will be heading the Fundraising Committee. Eric is a technology-savvy finance professional, with experience spanning large enterprises and entrepreneurial firms. A veteran of Wall Street as a research analyst and investment banker, an engineer in core R&D, and a sales & business development professional for technology businesses, Eric earned his triple-major MBA from Wharton in Strategy, Operations, & Public Policy and his BSE from UConn in Computer Science & Engineering. Along with many other professional awards, Eric won Briefing.com's "Call of the Week" in May 2008, and has passed FINRA's Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 exams. Eric has been a featured speaker and panelist at numerous trade shows, and authored hundreds of published reports.
Richard J. Lesko
MD, FACEP, FACP
Dr. Lesko graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in psychology, Harvard University with an M.A. in psychology and social relations, and from New York University with an M.D. degree. After earning his degrees, Dr. Lesko served as a Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force and completed board certification in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, M.A., and Overlook Hospital in Summit, N.J. He also held a post-doctoral residency for Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Lesko has been practicing primary care medicine in the community for the past 19 years, has served on the Board of Directors of the Summit Medical Group and has held numerous leadership positions in the Department of Internal Medicine. He also serves on the advisory board of the Global Consulting Group which focuses on continuing medical education for physicians, and is a member of the Primary Care Leadership Council at Overlook Hospital. He was a close friend of Dr. Enright’s and recruited him to the practice. He has been an active member of the Foundation's Board of Directors for the past several years.
James J. McGovern III
Mr. McGovern, a partner at Genova Burns in their Newark, N. J. office, is the Director of the Labor Law Practice Group. Jame's legal practice is concentrated exclusively in the area of Labor and Employment Law on behalf of management. He has an extensive experience in handling labor matters in healthcare, construction, transportation, manufacturing and other industries. From 2002 to 2010 he served as Labor Counsel to the State of New Jersey. In this capacity he negotiated, on behalf of the State, labor agreements with the unions representing some 50,000 State of New Jersey employees. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Labor & Employment Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and is a member of the Program Committee for the Public Employment Relations Commission Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Since 2006, Jim has been listed in New York Magazine's Best Lawyers in Labor and Employment Law. In 2010, he was recognized in New Jersey Monthly Magazine by Super Lawyers in Employment & Labor Law. He received his Juris Doctor degree cum laude, from the New England School of Law, and his baccalaureate from Seton Hall University in 1985.
Susan McLaren Ragan
Susan McLaren Ragan is a versatile, results-driven sales marketing team leader with 20+ years of experience driving profit and market share for startup and high-growth organizations in fast paced, entrepreneurial, and diverse industries. Susan is currently the Vice President of Sales for EntryPoint Communications. She has a rich history of analyzing customer needs, identifying problem areas, and creating innovative short/long-term strategic media/online-offline business solutions and plans to meet/exceed client and corporate objectives. Ms. Ragan has a proven ability to collaborate with senior management/ad agencies/research & analytics teams and retailers while supervising cross-functional teams. She has an impressive track record of managing/developing high performance Sales/Support teams. Ms. Ragan has been a buyer at R. H. Macy, a national field sales manager for patient care products at Proctor and Gamble and a senior director of business development at Catalina Marketing. She is a team player and collaborative leader of corporate task forces/thought initiative/change management/business transformation/new product launch best practices. Ms. Ragan's expertise ranges from developing teams, customer loyalty, negotiations, healthcare marketing and media relations. One of her key specialties is the ability to take start-ups to high impact organizations.
Dr. Stapleton graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2005 with a B.S. in Psychology and from The Pennsylvania State University in 2010 with a Ph.D. in Biobehavioral Health. He has been an Assistant Professor at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey since 2011 with academic appointments at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Stapleton is a behavioral prevention scientist with a research focus on melanoma prevention. Much of his current research focuses on studying indoor tanning behavior among young adult women and designing and testing behavioral interventions targeted to tanning bed users. He also has research experience with promoting sun protection in children and young adults and testing interventions designed to teach skin cancer screening and early detection skills to melanoma patients. He has published over 40 research articles in top tier dermatology and psychology journals including JAMA Dermatology, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Cancer, and Prevention Science. His indoor tanning research has been supported by two grants from the National Cancer Institute, including a 5-year Career Development Award, and has been cited in reports by the Federal Drug Administration, the United States Preventive Services Task Force, and the Surgeon General. He adds expertise related to prevention science as well as the design and evaluation of health education programs.
Mark I. Zimmerman
MD, FCCP, FACP (FOUNDING PRESIDENT)
Dr. Zimmerman is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the New York University School of Medicine. He has completed training in Internal Medicine at NYU Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital, and a fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the New Jersey Medical School-Rutgers University. He practices in the Atlantic Health System hospitals. He has received a number of awards as a teacher and mentor of young physicians in the training program at Overlook Hospital and has been named Teacher of the Year on two occasions. He has been named as a “Top Doctor” by New York Magazine, Inside Jersey Magazine, New Jersey Monthly Magazine and Castle Connolly. Dr. Zimmerman has served as Committee Chairman for Boy Scout Troop 63 in New Providence. Dr. Zimmerman was a close friend of Dr. Enright and was the founding President of the Foundation. After leaving the Summit Medical Group in 2002, Dr. Zimmerman’s association with the Foundation has remained strong and he is an active participant on the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Steven W. Kaye

Steven Kaye is the founder and president of American Economic Planning Group (AEPG), a wealth management firm located in Warren, New Jersey. His firm provides comprehensive financial planning and investment management for individuals and 401-k/pension administration and employee benefits for businesses. Kaye currently holds the professional designations of Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU), Accredited Asset Management Specialists (AAMS), Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC), and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®). Dr. McDaid is a 1978 graduate of Fairleigh Dickenson University in Madison, NJ. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine degree in 1983 from National College of Chiropractic. He has been in practice in the Summit community for over 30 years, specializing in musculoskeletal pain syndromes. Certified in Chiropractic Sports Injuries by the National College of Chiropractic Medicine and National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Dr. McDaid has post graduate certification in Orthopedics and Neurology and has been a lecturer at Overlook Hospital, UMDNJ, and Hunterdon Medical Center. An admirer of Joe Enright, Dr. McDaid has been involved in the community, donating his time to charitable organizations, fundraisers, and youth groups.
William A. Tansey III
M.D., FACC (TRUSTEE EMERITUS)
Dr. Tansey is a graduate of Yale University and of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He received postgraduate education in internal medicine and cardiology at St. Lukes Hospital in New York City. He became a qualified submarine medical officer in the US Navy before joining a private medical practice in Short Hills and ultimately became a partner in the Department of Cardiology at the Summit Medical Group. Dr. Tansey was recognized as one of "America's Top Physicians" for Cardiovascular Disease in 2004-2005 and in 2010 won the Outstanding Physician of the Year Award from the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants (NJSSPA). Among his other awards and recognitions are the distinguished Ellis Island Medal of Honor; volunteer service recognition from the American Heart Association and the New Jersey Symphony; listed by The Consumer Research Council of America on "America's Top Cardiologists;" and listed among Best Doctors in America in regional and national magazines. Active in both community and national organizations, Dr. Tansey is Chair of the Board of Liberty Science Center and Medical Advisor to the Millburn Short Hills Volunteer First Aid Squad, the Millburn Fire Department and the Millburn Office of the Red Cross. He is on the Board of the Founders Affiliate of the American Heart Association which includes all of the northeastern states and he serves with other cardiology leaders on the New Jersey Cardiac Health Advisory Panel and on the Advisory Committee for the Montclair State University College of Science and Mathematics. He is most interested in initiatives which enrich science education, promote healthcare careers and inform public advocacy efforts dedicated to quality healthcare and healthier communities.
